One well-crafted phishing message delivered over Facebook Messenger has so far snagged ten million Facebook users.
The same phishing scheme that dupes people into handing up their account passwords has been used on Facebook users. According to a report detailing the phishing campaign, the scam is still active, with victims being sent to a phony Facebook login page where they are persuaded to submit their Facebook credentials.
According to estimates, approximately 10 million users fell victim to the phishing scheme, netting a single offender a large sum of money. The phishing campaign began last year and stepped up in September, according to a report issued by experts at PIXM Security.
