US Compromised Russia’s Sophisticated ‘Snake’ Cyberespionage Malware

The US government’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has announced the disruption of a Russian cyber espionage group’s operations known as “Snake”.

The group is also referred to as Turla or Uroboros, and its operations have been thwarted by taking down one of its command-and-control servers.

The Snake malware is a sophisticated tool used in espionage campaigns that target government agencies, military organizations, and other high-value targets. The action taken by CISA is part of a wider strategy by the US government to counter foreign cyber threats.
