Cuba Ransomware Gang Hauls in _44M in Payouts

The “Cuba” gang has settled in the trenches, threatening at least 49 organizations in five critical sectors in the US since November, the FBI has warned.

With an immediate warning, the Feds have revealed that attacks by U.S. organizations finance, government, health care, manufacturing and information technology are caused by the group. In all, the hits have resulted in the collection of $ 44 million in ransom payments. That is just over half of the $ 74 million Cuban gang demanded in all of these attacks, indicating that companies are still divided over whether to pay or not.

The FBI did not name any victims, but last month the office also warned that the group was targeting international casinos across the US.
