Honda’s internal computer networks disrupted by a virus

Japanese automaker Honda was recently hit by a computer virus which resulted in disruption of the internal network. Factories were shut globally and employees were blocked from internal servers and email. Honda has not given information on the attackers or the tools used for the virus attacks. The software has previously been used to attack several factories and power plants’ control systems. The Japan Network Security Association has stated that the software was used to steal data, data hostage, and disruption of communications.

The virus attack resulted in production plants being halted in India, Brazil, North America, and Turkey.
