Microsoft and Mitre's new tool simulates attacks on machine learning systems

Microsoft and Mitre have announced the release of a new tool that will assist cybersecurity professionals in simulating attacks against machine learning (ML) systems.

The tool, known as Arsenal, is an add-on for the Mitre ATLAS (Adversarial Threat Landscape for Artificial-Intelligence Systems) framework, which is a knowledge base of adversarial tactics, techniques, and case studies. Arsenal aids cybersecurity researchers in storing and developing adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) defined in ATLAS to communicate with CALDERA, the cybersecurity platform that automates adversary emulation.

ATLAS is intended to increase awareness of the threats to ML systems. Arsenal can be used with Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04 systems and requires Python 3.7 or later to function.
