Microsoft Asks Customers to Patch Exchange Servers

Microsoft published a blog post this week to remind its customers of the ongoing wave of attacks against Exchange servers and to urge them to install the most recent updates as soon as possible.

The company warns customers that both a cumulative update (CU) and a security update (SU) are available for Exchange, warning that attackers looking to exploit unpatched Exchange servers won’t stop. The company continues, “There are too many unpatched Exchange environments on-premises that are valuable to bad actors looking to exfiltrate data or commit other malicious acts.”

The tech giant points out that hackers aren’t just after any potentially sensitive data that users’ mailboxes may hold. Security updates for Exchange are a common feature of Redmond’s Patch Tuesday updates.
