Ransomware Group Starts Identifying Victims of MOVEit Zero-Day Attacks

The Cl0p ransomware group has recently disclosed a list of over 25 organizations that appear to have been targeted in an orchestrated effort that exploits a zero-day vulnerability found in the MOVEit managed file transfer (MFT) software. The cybercriminal group illicitly obtained sensitive data from affected organizations by taking advantage of the CVE-2023-34362 vulnerability in MOVEit Transfer.

While indications suggest that the hackers have been testing this vulnerability since 2021, widespread exploitation commenced in late May 2023. These attacks have been swiftly linked to the Cl0p group, which previously exploited a zero-day vulnerability in the GoAnywhere MFT product to pilfer data from various organizations.
