Several Vulnerabilities in CodeMeter Product Uncover ICS to Remote Attacks

Vulnerabilities that are impacting CodeMeter, a Germany-based licensing and DRM solution from Wibu-Systems – can uncover industrial systems to remote cyberattacks. This recently came as a warning from Claroty, a cybersecurity company, as two of the security flaws have been marked as critical, and the rest are of high severity.

Businesses use CodeMeter to protect software against piracy and reverse engineering. It also offers to license management solutions and security features against attacks.

Researchers have identified six vulnerabilities in CodeMeter, and some of them could be exploited to launch cyberattacks against the industrial control systems. This can even shut down systems or processes to carry ransomware, malware, and more.
