SolarWinds releases an updated advisory for the new SUPERNOVA malware found to have been distributed through the network management platform of the company.
Both Palo Alto and Microsoft believe that the additional malware is not linked to the group that deployed the SUNBURST Trojan responsible for the SolarWinds initial supply chain attack.
SolarWinds advises its Orion Platform customers to upgrade to the latest versions to be protected from the SUPERNOVA malware and the SUNBURST vulnerability. Also, the vulnerabilities have been addressed for the customers who have already upgraded to the 2020.2.1 HF 2/2019.4 HF 6 versions, and no further action is needed.
