According to a latest announcement by Twitter, it has examined the recently publicized databases that are said to hold the data of hundreds of millions of its users and has not discovered any indication that a vulnerability has been exploited.

Twitter notified users that a system flaw had been exploited to obtain user data in August 2022. The vulnerability, which was fixed in January 2022, allowed one to ascertain whether a given phone number or email address was connected to an active Twitter account.

The social media platform acknowledged the vulnerability’s exploitation after rumors began to spread that it had been used to gather information on 5.4 million users.
