Google has announced that it will pay out a total of USD 10 million in bug bounty programs in 2023, bringing the total amount awarded by the tech giant for vulnerabilities discovered in its products since 2010 to USD 59 million.

The total paid out in 2023 is less than the USD 12 million paid out in 2022, but it is still a substantial sum. The funds were raised last year by 632 researchers from 68 countries. The largest single reward was USD 113,337.

In the case of Chrome, Google paid approximately USD 2.1 million in bug bounties for 359 vulnerability reports in 2023. Google’s overall bug bounty payouts are comparable to Microsoft’s.
