today, Redis announced the appointment of two new independent members to the company’s Board of Directors, Kimberly Alexy and Dr. Dorit Dor, leaders in the financial markets and cybersecurity industry, respectively. Alexy brings a wealth of knowledge to Redis, serving on several private and public company boards including Western Digital, Mandiant, Five9, and Netskope. Dr. Dor, currently the Chief Product Officer at Check Point Software Technologies—a leading provider of cyber security solutions globally—brings decades of experience diversifying product portfolios and playing critical roles in research and development (R&D) and organizational growth.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Kimberly and Dorit join us as experienced independent board members,” said Ofer Bengal, Co-Founder and CEO at Redis. “Both bring their own set of unique and exceptional experiences, which will add tremendous value to our company as we continue our mission to build one of the leading independent database companies and develop Redis as a real-time data platform.”
Kimberly Alexy is a seasoned finance professional and corporate board member with over 25 years of experience in finance, accounting, capital markets, M&A, and investments. She was a sell-side equity research analyst on Wall Street for nearly a decade specializing in technology stocks. Since then, she has been an active investor and board director, helping public and private companies with their board needs.
“The market for real-time data is booming right now as businesses transform the ways applications are built, deployed, and run to deliver digital experiences expected by their customers. As a high-growth, next-generation data platform company, Redis is well-positioned to disrupt the market,” said Alexy, “I’m excited to be part of a growing and innovative team to help assist with the next phase of the journey.”
Since 1995, Dr. Dorit Dor has served several pivotal roles at Check Point, leading the company’s product management, research and development (R&D), from concept to delivery. Beyond her current position as Check Point’s Chief Product Officer, she has been published for her academic research on graph decomposition, median selection, and geometric pattern matching in d-dimensional space. In 2019, Dr. Dor was named one of Israel’s most powerful women by Forbes and she is also an active member of the World Economic Forum Centre for Cybersecurity.
“A new surge of digital experiences—and the demand for them—is transforming the way developers can build true real-time applications. We’re at a critical moment of innovation and Redis is on the cusp of delivering those experiences,” said Dr. Dor. “It’s an exciting time in the company’s journey and I’m looking forward to working with the management team and the other directors as the company continues its growth trajectory.”
